Business Idea Generation.
The main problem of existing ideas for business is their low
efficiency. Many cells are already occupied, so it requires the
creation of some unique idea that has not yet been implemented by
anyone. Today, there are many methods for generating a business
idea, and here are some of them:
1. Brainstorming - developed
by Alex Osborne. This method is practiced in many successful companies. It doesn’t matter what
type of business you are doing or plan to do, brainstorming is always able
to give out new ideas, interesting concepts, and solutions to assigned
tasks. The main idea is that the participants in the brainstorming
session discuss the question posed.
Everyone offers their own solution to the question. Ideas should be
different, it is advisable to express everything that comes to mind, not
to be afraid. Even if the solution seems fantastic, it needs to be
voiced. Thus, the creative process is stimulated.
Further, the best ideas must be written down and discussed in more
detail. For those who practice this method for the first time, it
will be hard at first. But over time, you will get used to it and
will be able to generate very interesting and useful ideas.
The process of this method is simple. Participants in the experiment are asked a question then they discuss and propose solutions. The collective discussion makes thinking work more actively and stimulates the creative process. In such discussions, brilliant ideas are often born that remain creative. From hundreds of solutions, you can always choose 1-2 good options.
Brainstorming is carried out in three stages:

- Definition of the problem. It is important to immediately highlight in which direction the discussion will be conducted;
-
Generating a business idea. At this stage, any suggestions are
made. The main task is not to criticize other participants (even if
the ideas are really stupid). Any suggestions and ideas are welcome
- including those that are absolutely fantastic;
-
Collection of proposed ideas and their analysis. As a result, you
can choose some of the most worthy.
2. The "Six Hats" method.
This method was developed by Eduardo de Bono. The essence of the
method is simple. A man alternately puts on six hats of different
colors. Each shade has its own function:
-
White hat - analysis of facts and figures of the future
business. There should be exclusive facts and no emotions;
-
Black hat - search for the minuses of the chosen idea, as well as possible
risks. This method should reflect all the "pitfalls" of the business and the least
promising prospects;
-
Yellow hat - analysis of all the positive aspects of future
activities;
-
Green hat - generation of additional ideas related to the chosen direction,
non-standard solutions;
-
Red hat - checking your own emotional sensations from doing activities,
listening to your intuition. There should be no justification -
only internal sensations;
-
Blue hat - summing up the work done, the results of the potential
financial result, the final choice.
This could do as a game, during the creative process, a person should alternately wear six
different hats. Each has its own specific color, which is responsible
for a particular function. So, wearing a white hat, you should
impartially check all the facts and figures. Black - you need to find
all the negative traits and risks of this business.
Putting on yellow, you should analyze all the advantages of this
business. In green, generate even new ideas for the development of
the project, and in red you can afford to speak emotionally about the
idea presented.
And in the last, blue hat, you must take stock of all the work
done. A very interesting method, which turns into a game, but
thereby is able to incredibly stimulate the thinking process and
increase the ability to generate new business ideas.
3. The method of focal objects
The focal object method is a rather interesting way to generate new
ideas. This method is designed to combine the features of different
objects in one whole, and due to this, bring out a new object that is
more interesting for people.
For example: take as a basis for the celebration of the New
Year. There are a lot of associations and each of them will have
its own, but I immediately think of tangerines, a tree, sparklers, and
candles that my parents put on the table. The idea is that you can
add frayed sparklers to the wax of the candle, and we got an interesting
candle that will sparkle.
The example is simple, but I think that he made it possible to understand how this works. The focal object method is used everywhere. Even taking Apple's technology - all-new gadgets - is the generation of various devices whose properties have been combined into one and finalized.
